Company Overview:
Dedrone is the world’s most trusted smart airspace security company. Hundreds of commercial, government and military customers around the world rely on Dedrone’s comprehensive, command and control (C2) solution to protect against the persistent and escalating threat from drones while enabling “good” drones to fly. By leveraging AI/ML, Dedrone is the only solution that provides continuous, autonomous interrogation and verification of drones that enables both multi-sensor and multi-mitigation options onto a single fused "pane-of-glass".
Whether on-premise / air-gapped or in the cloud, Dedrone customers can easily detect, track, identify, analyze, and mitigate drone threats.
Your Impact
As a Machine Learning Engineer at Dedrone, you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing airspace security. Leveraging cutting-edge camera systems and machine learning algorithms, you will help us detect, track, and classify diverse flying objects in complex airspace environments. By innovating detection and tracking techniques, you’ll be key in developing our systems to respond to evolving airspace threats—from quadcopters and drones to other larger or unconventional aircraft. Working within a highly skilled team, you’ll gain access to world-class resources and an extensive, unique dataset, providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity to shape the future of airspace security and computer vision.
What You’ll Do
- Design, train, and evaluate representation learning and self-supervised learning models for detecting, tracking, and classifying flying objects from multi-camera systems.
- Explore and implement state-of-the-art SSL techniques (e.g., contrastive learning, masked image modeling, multi-view/temporal SSL) to leverage large-scale unlabeled video and image data.
- Develop, test, and optimize end-to-end computer vision pipelines (detection, tracking, re-identification, classification) built on top of learned representations.
- Translate research papers into production-quality code: design experiments, run ablations, manage benchmarks, and clearly communicate results.
- Keep pace with industry and academic advancements by surveying literature, attending conferences, and engaging with the research community, and bring those insights back into the product roadmap.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience in representation learning and self-supervised learning for computer vision, ideally on video or multi-camera problems (e.g., contrastive learning, MOCO, SimCLR, BYOL, MAE, DINO, etc.).
- Proven track record training and deploying deep vision models (e.g., YOLO, Faster/Mask RCNN, RT-DETR, or transformer-based detectors) and building applications on top of learned features.
- 5+ years of experience with the Python programming language and object-oriented design, with strong skills in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch (or TensorFlow/JAX).
- Strong background in computer science, applied math, or electrical engineering, with a solid grasp of the mathematical principles underlying deep learning, optimization, and probabilistic tracking.
- Experience designing and running rigorous experiments: dataset curation, evaluation protocols, statistical analysis, and clear reporting of results.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a track record of applying the scientific method to develop, validate, and iteratively improve algorithmic solutions in a production or research environment.
- (Nice to have) Publications in top-tier vision/ML conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML) or equivalent evidence of research impact.
