Job Overview
The Due Diligence Specialist is responsible for assisting the mortgage loan process, ensuring compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. This role involves serving as a liaison between clients, investors, and internal departments to facilitate the review, verification, and resolution of any issues related to loan files. The Due Diligence Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and completeness of mortgage loan packages for timely funding and delivery.
This role will be full time in office in the Ballantyne are of Charlotte, NC.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a contact for clients and investors throughout the due diligence process
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure a positive experience and long-term partnership
- Help to address and resolve client inquiries or issues promptly and professionally
- Coordinate the review process for loans, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate
- Verify compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements, including non-QM standards
- Identify and communicate deficiencies or discrepancies in loan files and work with stakeholders to resolve them
- Work closely with underwriting, operations, and compliance teams to facilitate the due diligence process
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on the status of loan reviews and address any outstanding items
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and efficient loan file resolution
- Work in office in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte
What We Need
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in mortgage lending, due diligence, or a related field
- Understanding of mortgage loan products, non- QM loans, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple accounts and deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset
- Attention to detail and analytical skills to identify and resolve loan file discrepancies
