What We’re Building
At General Intelligence Company (GIC), we’re building highly-capable autonomous agents for startups. Our goal is to enable the one-person, one-billion-dollar company. Our agents don’t just automate workflows - they replace them. To push the frontier of what our agents can do, we need an applied AI engineer who can rapidly prototype, evaluate, and apply cutting-edge AI techniques to our agents. You’ll work closely with our engineering and product teams to turn state-of-the-art ideas into real capabilities for our users.
What You’ll Do
- You'll be directly working on enabling AI agents to run companies without human oversight.
- Design and run experiments to evaluate new agent architectures, prompting strategies, and tool-use approaches.
- Build quick prototypes that demonstrate step-changes in agent capability and reliability.
- Work directly with engineers to productionize successful research in a fast, iterative cycle.
- Develop internal benchmarks and tooling to measure agent performance, hallucination rate, and task success.
- Keep us at the bleeding edge by surveying literature, reproducing important papers, and sharing insights with the team.
- Post your findings online from time to time.
- Translate our core principles into your work:
- Cycle time is key: you ship quickly and iterate.
- Quality matters: your work stands on its own.
- No backlogs: build what’s needed, when it’s needed.
- FITFO: you figure things out independently.
- Ownership mindset: you think and act like an owner.
