A-TEK actively cultivates the talent that drives our success and fosters a creative, challenging, and mission-driven work environment for current and future employees.We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer with AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional credentials to support a federal agency in managing secure cloud infrastructure for electronic health records (EHR). In this role, you will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and automated compliance workflows that meet the stringent security and interoperability requirements of federal health data systems.You will collaborate with federal OCIO, cybersecurity, and data governance teams to ensure HIPAA, FedRAMP High, and FISMA compliance, while enabling secure, efficient, and cost-effective cloud operations.
This role is remote with occasional travel to McLean, VA. The ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust Level 4 clearance is required for consideration.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline & Automation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Integrate automated security scanning, compliance checks, and remediation into DevSecOps workflows.
Security & Compliance
- Implement AWS-native security controls (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS) to protect sensitive federal health records.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, FedRAMP High, FISMA, and agency-specific security frameworks.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and compliance audits.
System Performance & Monitoring
- Monitor system performance, security posture, and cloud cost optimization.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, ELK, or similar tools.
- Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (preferred).
- 5+ years of DevSecOps experience in AWS cloud environments.
- Expertise in AWS security tools, IaC frameworks, and automation.
- Experience supporting federal healthcare data systems with EHR, FHIR, OMOP, or HL7 standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with HHS, CMS, FDA, or other public health agencies.
- Familiarity with Databricks, AWS Glue, or cloud-based data analytics platforms.
- Additional cloud or security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty).
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $140,000 – $150,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
