About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Snowflake, Apache Airflow, and Big Data technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines, enabling efficient data processing, storage, and analytics for business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow and Big Data frameworks.
- Work extensively with Snowflake to design, optimize, and maintain data warehouses.
- Implement and optimize data ingestion and transformation workflows on GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all data processes.
- Optimize storage and compute resources for cost-effective data solutions in the cloud environment.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance data pipelines and workflows for optimal performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise-level projects.
- Proven expertise in:
- GCP (Google Cloud Platform) – BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, IAM.
- Snowflake – schema design, performance tuning, data sharing, security.
- Apache Airflow – DAG creation, scheduling, workflow automation.
- Big Data technologies – Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or similar.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages like Python or Scala.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with streaming data frameworks (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
- Exposure to DevOps practices in a data engineering environment.
- Familiarity with machine learning data preparation pipelines
