Job Title: Test Bed Systems Engineering (SME)


Job Location: Albuquerque, NM


Job Description


We are seeking two Test Bed Systems Engineering SMEs to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing, managing, and executing complex test scenarios for Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) programs. This role requires a blend of systems engineering expertise, CBRNE analysis, documentation development, and test bed preparation across the full spectrum of WMD and emerging threats.

Must have an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance


Required Education/Experience:


* Active TS security clearance; must be eligible to obtain TS/SCI.* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field with 10+ years of relevant experience.* Proven experience in systems engineering, test planning, and technical coordination in DoD or national security environments.* Strong background in CBRNE systems and technology analysis, test bed preparation, and WMD-related assessments.

Required Training/Certifications (must be current):


1. OSHA CFR 29 Confined Space Training (8-Hour)2. HAZWOPER (40-Hour) – 29 CFR 1910.1203. OSHA Courses: 511, 510, 7415, and 74054. First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification5. Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Training6. Forklift Certification (up to 20K lbs)7. Manlift Training (35'–60')8. Certified sUAS PilotMaintain test site readiness and operational support for RDT\&E programs.* Provide technical guidance on test setup, infrastructure, and safety procedures.* Handle CBRNE sources and simulants in support of simulated nuclear and CWMD test events.* Conduct site tours, produce activity reports, and review test protocols for safety and compliance.* Coordinate and track infrastructure repairs and facility management tasks across test locations.* Assemble and maintain radiation testing devices and ensure calibration and operational integrity.* Serve as alternate Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and Security Manager for assigned test sites.* Ensure compliance with DoD/DTRA safety, security, and IT policies during all operations.

Key Responsibilities:


* Conduct CBRNE-focused systems engineering analysis to support test objective development.* Prepare technical documentation including SOTOs (Statement of Test Objectives), TRDs (Test Requirements Documents), TDDs (Test Design Documents), and TEPs (Test Execution Plans).* Define and apply standards for evaluating weapon system effectiveness in WMD/CWMD environments.* Support Nuclear Fuel Cycle testing, homemade explosives evaluation, IED assessments, and radiological source handling.* Perform technology gap analysis across the WMD/CWMD spectrum to inform test planning.* Provide subject matter expertise in electronic warfare (EW), targeting assistance, and small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) integration and analysis.* Assemble and configure radiation testing devices and prepare test beds and test articles for field use.* Serve as Test Scientist or Technical Coordinator, supporting the planning and execution of CWMD test events.

Desired Skills:
