- Performs complex analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve problems.
- Calibrates and utilizes instrumentation, able to understand all aspects of the instrumentation.
- Maintenance of equipment, including outside vendor scheduling.
- Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion.
- Accurately maintain and record both electronic and hardcopy data.
- Must read, interpret, and communicate test data.
- Ensure adherence to EPA and QA/QC guidelines.
- Ensure that adequate testing supplies are maintained.
- Ensure that testing chemicals are used and handled in a safe manner.
- Responsible for problem solving when results fall outside of mandated specifications.
- Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures.
- Adheres to all applicable policies, SOPs and the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
The ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics and possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:
- Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
- Hardworking.
- Physical ability to perform light work, exerting up to 20lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 10lbs force frequently.
- Science or technical degree or certification preferred.
- Science or technical experience preferred.
