Job Overview
The Mortgage Compliance Specialist will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and enforcing compliance with mortgage laws and regulations, managing audits, and ensuring that all processes meet legal and industry standards. They will ensure that our mortgage operations adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a crucial part in minimizing legal risks and maintaining the integrity of the organization’s mortgage operations.
What You’ll Do
- Implement, monitor and update compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and investor guidelines into the business units, federal and state statutes and regulations
- Work directly with the line of business to provide front line compliance support of origination activities
- Assist in management of responses to external requests from examiners, regulators and third parties
- Assist in development and/or revision of appropriate policies and procedures to comply with changes in regulatory and investor requirements; work with appropriate departments in integrating the requirements into the business process
- Assist with compliance and regulatory departmental training within the company
- Research state and federal statutes, rules, and regulations related to mortgage lending
What We Need
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2-4 years of analytics and/research experience
- 2-4 years demonstrated history of providing compliance advice and direction a plus
- Residential mortgage origination or operations experience a plus
- Project management experience a plus
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
- Experience performing research related to state and federal regulatory requirements
- Must be an articulate, effective communicator able to prepare and deliver project specific reports
- Flexibility and willingness to work under pressure with changing priorities to meet the demands of the business
- Self-sufficiency in approach to work
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is up to $85,000 based on experience.
