About All Cap Core Thematic
All Cap Core Thematic is a flexible, thematic, and risk-managed domestic equity strategy that is benchmarked to the Russell 3000. The ACCT team seeks to capitalize on themes, or secular forces that cut across economic sectors. Individual securities are selected based on the team’s assessment of potential risk and reward, underpinned by fundamental analysis. Risk management is accomplished via diversification and the flexibility to hedge when deemed appropriate. It has been led or co-led by Jason Benowitz, Senior Portfolio Manager, since 2017.
The ACCT team managed over $1.6 billion in assets as of December 31, 2024.
Responsibilities
CI SBH is seeking a Senior Equity Analyst to join the ACCT team. The Senior Equity Analyst will conduct fundamental research on large and mid-cap U.S. equities for the purpose of initiating new positions as well as evaluating existing positions held in the strategy. The analyst will contribute to the ACCT team’s thematic research, portfolio construction, and risk management. And he or she will directly manage certain customized client portfolios. Over time the successful analyst will assume greater responsibilities which may include contributing to marketing materials, representing the team in client meetings, supporting SBH sales as they interact with institutions and intermediary channels, and managing customized portfolios for some of the team’s largest clients.
The Senior Equity Analyst will work directly with Senior Portfolio Manager Jason Benowitz and the ACCT team, and will collaborate across CI SBH and other divisions of its parent CI Financial Corp. The position is based in Manhattan; some business travel may be required.
Qualifications
The candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, including some exposure to the buy side. Analyst experience across the buy side (long-only or hedge fund), sell-side equity research, investment banking, management consulting, and/or private equity is of interest. The candidate should have experience analyzing companies in different industries, as ACCT is a team of generalists. He or she should have quantitative skills, a firm grasp of financial accounting, and the ability to construct valuation models.
An understanding of geopolitics, macroeconomics, and the global capital markets is also valued, due to the strategy’s risk management component. A bachelor’s degree with strong academics is required, and an MBA degree and/or CFA designation is preferred.
Skills and Characteristics
We seek someone who is: passionate about investing in the U.S. equity markets; intellectually curious, thinks independently, and will work proactively in a self-directed manner; humble, patient, flexible, and continuously works toward self-improvement; an effective communicator both orally and in writing; able to work collaboratively as part of a small team as well as within a broader organization; and at all times guided by integrity and intellectual honesty.
