Who is Beast Code?
Beast Code began in 2014 as a small group of friends with a dream to transcend the traditional defense solution paradigm. Today, we are a workforce of approximately 200 beasts headquartered in Fort Walton Beach and driving the next wave of software development and technology on the Emerald Coast of Florida. Our projects are increasing as we build better solutions for industrial and commercial organizations.
Location:
Bangor, WA. *This is a hybrid role that requires occasional on-site work*
SME Description
Beast Code runs a tight ship, but our projects are growing more numerous, and we require additional hands-on deck. We're looking for a leader to join us — someone who'll take the helm, manage, and guide a project to stay on course and arrive at the destination intact and on time. Beast Code understands there are few people that have military background, and the software technical background to deliver the projects we are supporting. We are looking for military background experience to add to a team of software developers.
The aim of this leader will be to maximize the value of the software product through organizing and managing the work of the software development team. This leader will grow into the contact point between the business, the development team, and the client. Thus, we need you to carry these specific skills in your toolbelt:· Strategic Vision: No, we're not talking about your eyesight, but your mind. This leader has the capacity to quickly learn and understand the company's vision, knowing our primary goal is to support the (submarine) warfighter.· Communication: Not only will you have to see the vision with your mind, but you'll also need to communicate it clearly with your mouth, quill, and keyboard. That means expressing the vision to the team and communicating the team's work plan and bandwidth back to the business. · Mediator: A calm demeanor and thick skin are a must, as you'll be simultaneously managing the goal and balancing expectations between the team, business, and client. The ideal candidate will be located within an hour’s drive of TRF Bangor, a graduate of Navy Nuclear School with recent experience on a SSBN, SSGN or Trident Refit Facility (TRF). You know the difference between a pollywog and a WAF. You have dreamed of a day where you can interact with computer software supporting submarine maintenance that makes processes more efficient.
