Our all-in-one "business in a box" solution optimizes operations, automates workflows, and accelerates cash flow—allowing drivers to focus on growing their business.The Marketplace team at CloudTrucks solves complex problems in market prediction, pricing, and route optimization.

We leverage data from diverse sources—financial transactions, economic trends, and user behavior—to create intelligent solutions. Positioned at the intersection of shippers, carriers, and brokers, our mission is to help drivers maximize profitability and quality of life through AI and machine learning.As an engineer on the Marketplace team, you'll work with large datasets, shape data modeling decisions, and tackle challenges related to scalability and optimization. You’ll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, build innovative solutions, and make a real-world impact on the trucking industry.

Examples of projects that you may work on


  • Email Auto-Bid: Use LLMs to automate bid placement with broker partners, streamlining the process for customers and driving revenue growth.
  • Dispatch AI: Build intelligent tools to help drivers identify optimal jobs, plan multi-stop trips, and secure the best rates—delivered through an innovative voice-assisted interface.
  • Load Vault: Redesign storage strategies for large datasets, ensuring seamless integration with data warehousing and analytics while balancing cost, performance, and developer experience.

Responsibilities


  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality backend solutions using Django and Django Rest Framework.
  • Drive technical decisions and architectural direction, ensuring scalable and maintainable systems.
  • Take full ownership of projects and features, working across multiple systems and technologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams to create a seamless customer experience.
  • Elevate engineering practices by improving processes, setting standards, and refining tooling.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical growth and a culture of continuous improvement.

What we are looking for


  • Proven technical expertise, with 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production systems.
  • Strong technical leadership, driving architectural decisions, advocating for best practices, and leading design discussions with confidence.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • User-focused mindset, delivering value through incremental, iterative development.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to drive impact.

Nice to haves


  • Familiarity with our stack: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Google Cloud.
  • Technical leadership experience, whether formal or informal.
  • Strong data modeling expertise, with a deep understanding of designing scalable and efficient database schemas.

Salary Range


$155K – $225K(Actual compensation packages depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At CloudTrucks certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.)
