Job title: Head Start Inclusion Coach
The Inclusion Specialist promotes inclusive practices for children with disabilities in Early Head Start and Head Start programs, ensuring meaningful participation in classroom and home-based settings.
In this role you will:
- Conduct observations and inclusion assessments in classroom and home-based environments
- Provide individualized coaching, consultation, and modeling to support inclusive practices
- Guide staff on environmental modifications, accommodations, and embedded learning opportunities
- Collaborate with families, staff, and service providers to develop inclusion support plans
- Create individualized goals and strategies that support participation in daily routines
- Design and deliver targeted training on inclusion and developmentally appropriate practices
- Provide follow-up support to strengthen staff implementation and effectiveness
What it takes:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
- Master's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience working with children with disabilities, birth to 5, in a home-based and/or classroom-based setting.
- 2 years of experience with assessment, coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance in implementing inclusive practices with program staff and service providers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Possess an insured & reliable vehicle and a valid AZ driver’s license.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- DES Criminal Affidavit Required
- AZ DHS Criminal History Affidavit Required
- FPC DPS Verification Required
