Role Overview:
As a Recruiter, People Operations at UnitX, you will own full-cycle recruiting across our active reqs and build the people-ops foundation that keeps employees growing once they're here — performance, employee relations, immigration, and internal communications. You will partner closely with hiring managers, leadership, and our Head of Finance to bring in great people and make UnitX a place they want to stay. The team you hire and the culture you shape will directly impact the $15B+ of products inspected through UnitX every year.
What You'll Do:
- You will run full-cycle recruiting across our active reqs — sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and closing.
- You will partner with hiring managers to calibrate rubrics, run debriefs, and hold the bar across the loop.
- You will own the candidate experience end-to-end in Ashby — clean pipelines, fast scheduling, structured scorecards.
- You will construct offers, model equity, and close candidates against competing options.
- You will run our performance review cycle, partnering with leadership on calibration and ratings.
- You will handle employee relations — performance plans, conflicts, and sensitive conversations.
- You will coordinate active immigration cases (PERM, H-1B, transfers) with our outside immigration counsel (Boundless and Alcorn).
- You will partner with the CEO and leadership on meeting cadence, OKR tracking, and action item follow-through.
- You will help shape culture, belonging, and community as the team grows.
Who You Are:
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of recruiting or people-ops experience at a startup or tech company.
- Have personally closed engineering hires at startup scale.
- Strong experience with Ashby (or comparable ATS) and structured interview processes.
- Excited about both recruiting and people-ops work — you see them as complementary, not as a path from one to the other.
- Ability to explain tradeoffs, judgment calls, and people decisions clearly to hiring managers, founders, and the broader team.
- Comfortable operating in uncertainty and at the pace of an early-stage company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Robotics, hardware, applied AI, or deep-tech recruiting experience.
- Bilingual English/Chinese — valued for sourcing strong candidates from TikTok, Zoom, Meta, and other bilingual-heavy companies.
- Prior HR generalist exposure — employee relations cases handled, performance cycles run, handbook work.
- Immigration coordination experience — PERM or H-1B work with outside counsel.
- Experience with Rippling, Pave, or Sequoia comp data tooling.
