POSITION DESCRIPTION


The Business Analyst leads the design and building of IT systems and processes to support performance marketing programs. The Business Analyst elicits and documents business and system requirements, analyzes data, conceives and documents acceptance criteria, tests software and processes and negotiates realistic expectations. The Business Analyst supports the operation of performance marketing programs by retrieving data for reports, troubleshooting issues and acting as the subject matter expert of the program and supporting systems.

The Business Analyst supports the sales team by determining client requirements, negotiating and documenting scope, coordinating the estimating of development efforts and participating in presentations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS


  • Consult with and provide options and direction to clients and internal team members at all times regarding web site design and functionality, reporting, data exchanges and program rules.
  • Deliver presentations to clients and prospective clients in a professional and engaging manner, demonstrating confidence and expertise
  • Document system scope of performance marketing programs using non-technical, clear, concise and grammatically correct language
  • Identifyand document technical and business assumptions
  • Lead the development team in estimating the development and operation of new programs and system enhancements
  • Set and communicate realistic timeline and scope expectations for new development by negotiating and collaborating with clients, internal team members and Technology Services supervisors
  • Apply department project management principles to ensure that agreed upon commitments are accomplished based on realistic timelines and team-accepted criteria
  • Identify scope changes and effectively communicate the impact on price and timeline to all stakeholder
  • Coordinate the design of user-friendly systems to ensure client and internal team member needs are met
  • Elicit, negotiate and document client and business requirements
  • Document system specifications using process diagrams, screen mock-ups and report layouts
  • Collaborate in data modeling
  • Document test scenarios and expected results
  • Test web sites and processes, log issues found and provide feedback to developers
  • Coordinate system releases and deployments
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for performance marketing systems by knowing and communicating effectively what the system should do and how program rules are implemented in the system and processes
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert in the data consumed and produced by the system, including but not limited to: file imports, file exports and data entered into the system
  • Train, mentor and support Systems Coordinators and Account Managers in program operations
  • Extract data using SQL Server Management Studio to fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Troubleshoot web site and processing issues and effectively communicate the cause and effect of issues to technical and non-technical team members in a timely manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related major or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum of six years combined experience in a service industry in Business Analyst, Developer and Quality Assurance Analyst roles.
  • Minimum of six years of demonstrated knowledge in client server and web-based business applications.
  • Minimum of six years of experience using data analysis techniques to determine business requirements and design information systems.
  • Minimum of three years experience leading or assisting in leading teams.
  • Minimum of three years experience accessing and developing with relational databases.
  • Minimum of six years experience with technical writing to produce process and specification documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills demonstrated in the effective balancing of multiple projects within required time frames.
  • Ability to travel to client locations and sales office on a limited basis (up to approximately one 3-day trip quarterly).
  • Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
