Our Bengaluru team is a core part of our global engineering and operations hub, driving innovation for millions of aviation professionals worldwide.We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Asset Management Specialist to help build and maintain our IT asset and configuration management practices as we modernize our service management environment.
This role will own day-to-day asset lifecycle activities and support the accuracy, governance, and usability of our hardware, software, and configuration data across the organization.The ideal candidate has experience managing both software and hardware assets, working with configuration management / CMDBprocesses, and supporting ITSM practices in an ITIL-aligned environment. Experience with Flexera and Jira Service Managementis strongly preferred. This role will partner closely with ITSM, infrastructure, security, procurement, and operations teams to improve visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency across our asset landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Asset lifecycle management
- Manage the lifecycle of IT assets from request and procurement through deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Maintain accurate records for hardware and software assets across the organization.
- Ensure asset data is complete, consistent, and aligned with business and operational needs.
- Support asset reconciliation, audits, and cleanup efforts to improve inventory accuracy.
Software asset management
- Track software entitlements, installations, usage, and renewals.
- Support software compliance and optimization efforts.
- Partner with procurement, finance, security, and technical teams to maintain visibility into software ownership and usage.
- Assist with license reconciliation and audit response activities.
Hardware asset management
- Manage inventory for end-user devices and other hardware assets.
- Support assignment tracking, lifecycle status updates, and disposition/retirement processes.
- Partner with endpoint management and operations teams to ensure accurate hardware data.
- Help maintain standards for asset tagging, categorization, and record-keeping.
Configuration management / CMDB
- Support the design, maintenance, and accuracy of configuration data and CMDB relationships.
- Maintain relationships between assets, configuration items, services, applications, and infrastructure components.
- Assist with data quality controls, audits, and normalization of configuration records.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure the CMDB supports operational, support, and change-related use cases.
Flexera administration and support
- Support the administration and use of Flexera for software and/or hardware asset management.
- Use Flexera data and tooling to improve visibility into inventory, entitlement, compliance, and lifecycle management.
- Assist with data imports, reconciliations, reporting, and optimization activities within Flexera.
- Collaborate with other teams to improve the use of Flexera as a source of truth or source of record where appropriate.
ITSM and process support
- Work within ITIL-aligned asset and configuration management practices.
- Support incident, change, request, and procurement processes as they relate to assets and configuration items.
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and process improvements for asset management operations.
- Partner with ITSM and platform teams to ensure asset data supports service delivery and operational workflows.
Reporting and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain asset reports, dashboards, and metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and streamline asset processes.
- Document asset workflows, governance standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate across teams to support better decision-making through accurate asset data.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- 5+ years of experience in IT asset management or related operational roles.
- Hands-on experience managing both software and hardware asset inventories.
- Experience with configuration management / CMDB concepts and practices.
- Working knowledge of ITIL and service management best practices.
- Experience using Flexera for asset management, software asset management, or inventory/compliance support.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as ITSM, infrastructure, security, procurement, or finance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain organized records and processes.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a software company, SaaS company, or similarly lean modern environment.
- Experience supporting asset management in Atlassian Jira Service Management / Assets or another CMDB-enabled platform.
- Familiarity with end-user computing tools and lifecycle processes.
- Experience with software licensing, renewal management, and compliance reporting.
- Experience with integrations between asset systems and endpoint/cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud, SaaS, server, or virtual infrastructure asset tracking.
- Asset management certifications or ITIL certification.
