Now, let’s make sure you’re a good fit for the role.We are looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications across the frontend and backend. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strong expertise in modern frontend frameworks and cloud-native architectures on AWS.You will play a key role in defining system architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving best practices, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful digital products.This is a hybrid position based in Medellín or Bogotá, offering a balance between onsite collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications using React and Next.js.
- Develop scalable backend services using Python and AWS cloud services.
- Architect and implement serverless solutions leveraging:
- API Gateway
- AWS Lambda
- Step Functions
- Design and evolve microservices architectures and event-driven systems.
- Define technical architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices and code quality.
- Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical decision-making.
Must-have Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including fullstack development.
- Advanced English level (written and spoken).
- Strong experience with React and Next.js.
- Solid backend development experience using Python.
- Proven expertise working with AWS cloud services, including:
- API Gateway
- AWS Lambda
- Step Functions
- Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns.
- Hands-on experience with CloudWatch and CloudTrail for monitoring and logging.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture design.
Nice-to-have
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Experience in technical leadership roles (Staff/Principal level).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Exposure to modern frontend patterns (SSR, SSG, performance optimization).
- Experience working with distributed or global teams.
