In this role, you’ll manage supplier performance, governance, and optimization efforts to ensure strong recovery outcomes while maintaining compliance, ethical standards, and positive customer experiences. This role is ideal for a leader who understands the balance between performance, risk management, and responsible collections in a regulated FinTech environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end relationship with recovery suppliers, including collection agencies, legal partners, and specialty servicers.
- Establish and oversee performance frameworks, SLAs, KPIs, and scorecards to drive recovery outcomes and supplier accountability.
- Monitor supplier performance across recovery metrics, compliance standards, and customer experience indicators.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure suppliers adhere to regulatory requirements (FDCPA, Reg F, UDAAP) and internal policies.
- Lead supplier onboarding, due diligence, audits, and ongoing oversight activities.
- Identify opportunities to optimize recovery strategies, placement logic, segmentation, and supplier mix.
- Support contract negotiations, renewals, and cost management efforts for recovery suppliers.
- Manage escalations, issue resolution, and corrective action plans related to supplier performance or compliance concerns.
- Develop reporting and insights for leadership on recovery performance, risks, and strategic opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supplier management processes and tools.
Requirements
Development & Expertise
- 6–10+ years of experience in operations, recovery, collections supplier management, or related roles within consumer lending, FinTech, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of recovery and post-charge-off collections strategies.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting recovery activities.
- Proven experience managing third-party suppliers and performance-driven contracts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recovery data and supplier metrics.
