Key tasks and responsibilities
· Ensure drilling operations are properly planned, executed and reported.·Efficient planning of drilling operations to meet the HS&E, technical and financial objectives. ·Interface with asset team during the well planning process and ensure that the well objectives are fully understood and conveyed to all drilling personnel involved in the projects.·Provide technical input into the tender and contracting process.·Deliver detailed planning documents, which highlight costs and risks associated with the well operations.
·Deliver detailed drilling programs.·Interface with materials and logistics support to ensure the timely and efficient arrival of well equipment in Gabon, and on the rig-site. ·Interface with contracted third party drilling service suppliers to ensure the use of fit-for purpose equipment and techniques are utilised on the project. ·Monitor well costs, and report these on a daily basis during well operations. ·Prepare the final well report at the end of the drilling operations.·Other duties as reasonably requested.
Requirements
Education· Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. Experience· Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience with drilling and completionsInterpersonal skills· Team player with the ability to lead· Proactive and able to work independently, applying a structured and systematic approach· Strong communication skills and the ability to ask relevant questions and provide thorough explanations· Ability to deliver in a high pressure, fast pace project environment· Ability to deliver high quality work on time· Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment· Excellent managerial skills· Ability to think strategicallyKnowledge· Understand the various engineering disciplines and their interaction· Understanding and knowledge of operational, engineering, contractual and commercial aspects of the offshore oil & gas industry with regards to drilling· Working knowledge of the oil & gas market within the Region (including other Global Regions)· Knowledge of the relevant requirements of the classification societies and international rules and regulations· Fluent in English (oral and written)· Capability in French (oral and written) desirableOther· The position may require temporary assignments at project premises or on board units· The position may require travel and long working hours in peak in peak periods
