ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for preparing Oberto’s outbound shipment to customers. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a relentless focus on following all safety standards. This position requires individuals to have a strong drive and passion for success and always putting the company’s best interests first. This position is responsible for wrapping and loading all outbound shipments to customers, ensuring that the freight is accurate and secure. The position is also responsible for the general housekeeping of the warehouse facility, as well as cycle counting inventory.
SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm
WAGE:
$21.00 per hour

- Functional / Technical Skills: Consistently executes the duties and responsibilities of his or her position in an efficient and accurate manner. Must be forklift/reach truck/pallet jack certified and can demonstrate safe operation of that equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Always Work safely.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to unplanned changes.
- Wrapping Operations: Safely wrap pallets using handheld stretch film dispensers or operating automated stretch wrap machines.
- Audit freight shipments prior to loading.
- Load freight shipments into trailers.
- Perform various warehouse housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to sweeping floors and emptying trash cans.
- Apply labels to customer orders.
- Perform tasks with a sense of urgency with strong attention to detail.
- Securing Loads: Ensure all items are tightly secured, applying additional reinforcement (overwrap, tape, corner boards) for stability.
- Material Handling: Operate electric pallet jacks (EPJ) or forklifts to move finished pallets to staging areas.
- Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to safety protocols, keep work areas clean, and perform basic maintenance on wrapping machines.
- Strong focus and attention to detail.
Employee Safety
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that the work area is cleaned daily.
- Bring up any potential safety concerns to warehouse leadership in a timely manner.
Quality
- Maintain the warehouse in accordance with the quality and cleanliness guidelines established by Oberto, the USDA, and pertinent third party (SQF) auditing facilities.
- Inspect loads for proper stacking, security, and labeling before they are shipped out to customers.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in annual inventory counts by being available for counting, verifying, and researching inventory issues as required.
- Previous warehouse or fulfillment experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow structured schedules and comply with company policies.
- Willingness to receive training and follow direction from supervisors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This employee regularly works with hazardous machinery, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment. This employee regularly works around high voltage, hot water, and steam
- Ability to frequently sit, long periods of stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Full sensory perception
- Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
- Willing to work in a various-temperature environment (25 – 90 degrees) depending on season. Warehouse and loading dock environment
- Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
- Good manual dexterity
- Dangerous fast-moving equipment
- Fast paced, changing workloads, moderate to high amount of stress
- Occasional slipper floors.
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
