About Our Search


Hord Coplan Macht is looking for a strong Architect/Project Manager to join our Senior Living team.  Our next team member will have a passion for design excellence, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to client service. This individual will be the point of contact for our clients, their general contractors, and consultants throughout the project. They will be expected to manage, organize, and coordinate their HCM team and our engineering consultants to execute architectural projects successfully.

About the Position


  • Develops a thorough understanding of projects’ design philosophy and provides input in developing a design and building performance strategy, and effectively conveys this to assigned team members when appropriate
  • Leads projects’ technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with Senior Designer and/or Principal-In-Charge.
  • Seeks creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documents to support these solutions
  • Actively collaborates with and coordinates the work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project
  • Delivers complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation
  • Oversees the production of schematic, design development, and construction documents in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent during all project phases
  • Maintains awareness of evolving building technology and systems
  • Oversees construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.). Reviews shop drawings, material samples, and CDs for conformance with design.
  • Develops and manages project schedules, including HCM staffing assignments.
  • Manages contract compliance and project financials, including fee budgets and invoicing.
  • Fosters a collaborative team environment that mentors and develops junior staff
  • Maintains contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required

About You 


  • 10-15 years of experience in the Architectural field 
  • License required
  • Experience and a demonstrated interest in the Senior Living or Hospitality sectors are required
  • A passion for designing high-quality, built environments that enrich the lives of senior residents, a plus
  • Experience leading client meetings and sub-consultant coordination
  • Strong Revit skills 
  • Experience in preparing construction documents and construction administration
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
