OVERVIEW:
This investment analyst position is a member of Glenmede’s Investment Strategy Group, responsible for developing macroeconomic views, supporting asset allocation decisions, and translating investment insights into clear, client-facing communications. This investment analyst will work closely with investment-related professionals across all functions and departments, including equity and fixed income management, manager research, private equity, marketing, relationship management, business development and legal, to support the firm’s overall investment objectives.
Additionally, this individual will develop and maintain industry relationships and may be asked to represent the Investment Strategy Group or the firm, internally or externally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investment Strategy Research and Data Analytics
- Track and report on domestic and international economic and financial markets.
- Assist in developing proprietary indicators or models
- Assist with preparation of Investment Committee materials on monthly basis.
- Perform ad-hoc investment and/or economic research.
- Presentation and Communication
- Help prepare the EMO (Economic and Market Outlook) and other presentations for client and/or prospect meetings or webinars.
- Help write/prepare regular Investment Strategy publications, including but not limited to Glenmede’s “Investment Strategy Notes” and “Market Insights.”
- Investment Strategy Group Support
- Support the Investment Strategy Group in other day-to-day operations
- Coordinate with other groups within Glenmede and with external research providers
- Relationship Management Support
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the firm’s relationship managers and specialists as well as other members of the team.
- Assist with providing client service in response to both internal and external requests.
- Firm Building
- Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve client experience, or develop more efficient processes.
- Contribute to the advancement of team, office, and business capabilities.
- Participate in ad hoc projects requested by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 0-2 years of work experience, at least one internship in financial services or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or related area
- Working toward or interested in pursuing a CFA charter
- Passionate about investing; deep knowledge of financial markets
- Experience with various asset classes and/or economic analysis
- Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize time and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; client service orientation
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Ability to interact with other team members on shared goals and objectives
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Familiarity with FactSet / Bloomberg
