Supervisor Job Title: Principal Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Salary The management services offered to our family of charter schools, allows us to collectively become a change agent and national leader in urban education as evidenced by student awareness of self, high academic achievement, positive school culture and community transformation wherever we serve. Essential FunctionsA High School Chemistry Teacher develops and delivers lesson plans focused on chemical properties, reactions, and laboratory safety. Key responsibilities include conducting hands-on experiments, assessing student performance, integrating technology, and preparing students for standardized tests, while fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for diverse learners.Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Preparing, setting up, and supervising safe, engaging experiments and demonstrations.
  • Creating and evaluating quizzes, tests, projects, and lab reports to track student progress.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and handling of hazardous chemicals in the laboratory.
  • Offering tutoring, mentoring students in STEM fields, and addressing social-emotional needs.
  • Meeting with parents, staff, and administration to discuss student performance and school initiatives.

Requirement/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, typically in chemistry or related science field
  • Must possess and maintain a PA certification. Preferred certification in science, generally in secondary education 
  • Deep understanding of chemistry concepts (atomic structure, stoichiometry, organic/inorganic chemistry).
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and educational technologies
  • Strong ability to manage classroom dynamics and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Patience, effective communication, and the ability to use educational technology
  • Multi-faceted, multi-skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help our scholars reach a level of academic excellence 
  • Model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistentand understanding 
  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the Universal’s mission and willingness to serve the Universal community 

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the building sub is regularly required to: 

  • Speak, stand, talk, walk, see, hear and, sometimes, to sit. 
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to read small print. 
  • Frequently bend, reach above the head, as well as forward, and use fine motor skills.
