We are committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment where team members can thrive and contribute to our shared success.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Safety & Facilities Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining Gable’s safety programs, regulatory compliance efforts, and facility-related operations across all operational areas.
This role owns the day-to-day execution and ongoing improvement of safety, compliance, and facility systems to ensure safe, organized, and compliant working environments.This is a hands-on role that combines program ownership with direct execution. The Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety procedures, coordinating facility needs, supporting site security practices, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and maintaining operational standards across production, warehouse, and office environments.The role works closely with the Director of Manufacturing and operations leadership to ensure consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement in safety, facility, and security-related practices.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSafety & Compliance Management
- Own and manage company safety programs and procedures in alignment with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine and scheduled safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
- Maintain a safe working environment by identifying hazards, enforcing safety standards, and driving corrective actions through to completion.
- Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce recurrence.
- Maintain safety records, OSHA logs, and compliance documentation, ensuring all reporting is timely, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Ensure consistent adherence to safety policies, procedures, and workplace standards across all environments.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training for team members, and train supervisors and managers on proper safety practices and expectations.
- Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing awareness, accountability, and safe behaviors across the organization.
- Maintain emergency preparedness procedures and ensure readiness across facilities.
- Lead or support regular safety meetings or committees to review performance, communicate issues, and reinforce accountability.
Facilities, Fleet & Security Operations
- Manage day-to-day facility operations including maintenance coordination and general building support.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and fleet are maintained in safe, functional condition and that issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
- Oversee and track preventive maintenance activities for facilities, equipment, and operational infrastructure.
- Coordinate repairs and ensure timely resolution of facility and equipment-related issues.
- Manage fleet-related activities including maintenance scheduling, recordkeeping, and basic compliance.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized environments across production, warehouse, and office spaces.
- Support site security practices including monitoring camera systems as needed, reviewing footage, and assisting with investigations of incidents or concerns.
- Respond to and help investigate security-related incidents, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
- Maintain awareness of site access, visitor activity, and general facility security conditions, escalating concerns when appropriate.
Operational Standards & Compliance
- Maintain and enforce operational standards related to workplace organization, including Lean and 5S practices.
- Ensure production and warehouse environments remain organized, compliant, and aligned with company standards.
- Manage documentation related to safety procedures, compliance requirements, and operational standards to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency.
- Track and maintain workforce certifications and required training to ensure all credentials remain current and properly documented.
- Support and participate in audits, inspections, and compliance-related activities, ensuring readiness at all times.
- Ensure adherence to safe materials handling practices and warehouse safety standards.
- Track safety, facility, and compliance-related issues and ensure timely follow-up, communication, and closure.
- Identify and implement practical improvements to systems, processes, and tools that support safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Operations, Construction, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in safety, facilities, manufacturing, construction, or a related operational environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and general workplace safety practices.
- Experience owning or managing safety, facilities, or compliance-related responsibilities.
- Experience working in environments requiring awareness of site security and incident response.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of programs and processes.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work across departments.
- Proficiency with standard software tools; familiarity with digital or AI-enabled tools for tracking, reporting, and documentation is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires the ability to perform both administrative and occasional hands-on operational tasks. The role involves a combination of office-based work and time spent in production, warehouse, and field environments.The team member must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and perform administrative tasks, along with visual acuity (with correction) and the ability to speak and hear effectively.The position requires the ability to walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders, bend, kneel, and occasionally lift or move materials or equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
The role may involve inspecting equipment, reviewing job site conditions, and assisting with operational or safety-related tasks when needed.WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This role operates in a combination of office, manufacturing, warehouse, and field environments. The Manager will regularly spend time in production areas, facilities spaces, and occasionally at active installation or construction sites.
- While performing duties in these environments, the team member may be exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical equipment, industrial materials, dust, and changing environmental conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required in production or job site environments.
- The role may also involve periodic visits to vendor facilities, project sites, and other operational locations as part of safety inspections, facility reviews, and asset management responsibilities.
