We are seeking an audio director to work on a high-profile interactive experience to celebrate a new movie IP. The experience gives players the chance to create and play with music, and control the world around them. This experience will incorporate many legendary catalogue tracks, alongside user generated content, expressed through interactions and effects.
This is both a creative direction and leadership role. You will be working closely with the internal audio department and external stakeholders to guide the musical vision and overall audio experience.Magnopus's studio postings are made in advance of work anticipated to be awarded. Responsibilities


  • Define the Musical Vision: Establish and maintain the overarching audio direction for the interactive experience, ensuring a cohesive blend of sfx, licensed tracks and user-generated content. Ensure our project sounds awesome from end to end - everything from songs to sound effects.
  • Experiential implementation: Attend, present and review work both in audio and software formats where appropriate. Provide written and face-to-face feedback on implemented works and prototypes to help align the project and deliver on the creative ambition.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as the primary creative bridge between the internal audio team (design and engineering) and the external film department to ensure visual and sonic alignment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Present and defend creative concepts to external partners, IP holders, and other artists teams as it relates to the musical vision.
  • Manage scope: Manage the audio production lifecycle within Jira, ensuring that creative milestones, tasks, technical spikes and R&D are managed, reviewed and triaged effectively.
  • Music Interaction Design: Oversee the development of interactive music systems that allow players to manipulate and remix stems in real-time alongside gestural inputs to create music which works in-sympathy with library-based remixes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary audio team, translating high-level creative goals into actionable technical tasks and Jira tickets for sound design, technical sound and audio engineers.

Required Qualifications


  • Creative Direction: Proven track record of leading the audio/musical vision for high-profile games, interactive media, or innovative music-tech projects.
  • Linear & Non-Linear Expertise: Strong understanding of both traditional film scoring/production and dynamic, state-based interactive music systems.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in Jira and Confluence is preferred, as well as creating presentations, Miro boards, and documentation as required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a history of managing and collaborating with brands and external stakeholders (both exec level and creatives), balancing both practical and scope discussions with creative solutions in-the-room.
  • Technical Literacy: Fluency in game audio implementation and a solid understanding of how engineering constraints can impact creative possibilities. You will have experience to balance economical decision making with creative ambition.
  • Strong Ear for Quality you can identify and resolve quality issues with regard to key, mix, balance, blending, EQ sequencing and FX in order to deliver an exceptionally high level of quality.
