Job Information
The Shipping Associate supports the efficient operations of the shipping and receiving dock by handling, packaging, and routing materials and products. This role involves loading and unloading freight, maintaining accurate records using company systems, and ensuring work areas remain organized and safe. The Shipping Associate plays a key role in meeting customer needs through timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing goods while upholding FloWorks’ standards of service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating activities in the Shipping/Receiving Dock including Unloading and loading semi-trucks, U.P.S. and FedEx trucks to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. Stack or pilematerials, such as lumber, boards, or pallets
- Responsible for incoming and outgoing products and goods. Packaging and preparing shipping boxes and containers
- Hand- loading and unloading of freight. Manual and lift truck operation
- Routing material to the proper people and departments
- Use Microsoft Office, Excel, and additional software to track and communicate internally, to suppliers, and to vendors
- Create and run reports, as required
- Must be experienced operating a forklift. Certification a plus.
- Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in correct location, etc.)
- Follows company safety policiesand procedures and encourages other associates to do the same
- This position requires self-driven individuals with strong customer service skills
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Forklift experience
- Material resource planning and/or production control experience with Systems Applications Processes (SAP)
- Experience in processes of warehouse operations and distribution programs.
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility
- Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices or instruction
- Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor

- Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
- Occasionally loud noise (examples: shop tool noises, electric motors, moving mechanical equipment)
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment with flexibility for hybrid work. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers are used. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required.
