At Mukuru, learning is not an event — it is a strategic lever for performance, growth, and transformation.We are looking for a People Learning Enablement Team Leader to lead, elevate and strengthen our learning function across territories. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and delivery — ensuring that our people are equipped with the skills, knowledge and capability required to perform at their best.You will lead a team of Learning Partners and ensure that learning initiatives are aligned to Mukuru’s People Strategy, compliant with regulatory frameworks, and delivered with measurable impact.

The Role Purpose


To supervise the design, development and implementation of learning programmes that align to business goals — driving high performance for both new and existing employees while embedding excellence, compliance and consistency in delivery.

What You Will Own


Learning Strategy & Tactical Planning


  • Develop and execute learning tactical plans aligned to Mukuru’s People Strategy
  • Ensure all Learning Partners operate against clear, aligned plans
  • Monitor and track programme effectiveness and ROI
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external training providers

Team Leadership & Enablement


  • Lead and supervise a team of Learning Partners
  • Provide guidance, structure and accountability for quality delivery
  • Support capability development within the team
  • Create continuity and engagement within the function

Quality Assurance & Compliance


  • Conduct regular quality checks, audits and Train-the-Trainer assessments
  • Ensure learning interventions meet compliance standards and policy requirements
  • Align closely with regulatory frameworks and learning enablement compliance
  • Continuously improve procedures and learning methodologies

Learning Needs & Skills Gap Analysis


  • Ensure alignment in how Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Skills Gap Analysis (SGA) are conducted
  • Identify development priorities across the business
  • Translate skills gaps into structured learning interventions

Reporting & Data Insight


  • Oversee accurate capturing of learning interventions in the HRIS/LMS systems
  • Compile monthly and quarterly learning reports
  • Analyse training data to identify trends, gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Provide leadership reports on team performance and programme effectiveness

Stakeholder & SDF Partnership


  • Partner with the Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) to align reporting and compliance requirements
  • Ensure progress against Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and statutory obligations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders

What You Bring


Essential Experience


  • 5+ years’ experience in a Learning & Development environment
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and delivering training across multiple delivery methods
  • Experience in compliance within a learning enablement context
  • Experience conducting Skills Gap and Training Needs Analyses
  • Strong reporting and training administration experience
  • Project management experience
  • Financial services exposure (advantageous)

Qualifications


  • National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Learning & Development or equivalent (essential)
  • Understanding of learning enablement compliance (essential)
  • Leadership or project management accreditation (advantageous)

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills (including ROI measurement)
  • Leadership and decision-making ability
  • Strong project management capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
