Principle Network Engineer

Our world-class team includes experts in all aspects of spacecraft subsystems design, development, and test, on-orbit operations, and safety.About the Position: We’re seeking a network expert who can lead the design, implementation, and optimization of hybrid network environments with a focus on resiliency, scalability, and security. You’ll troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, contribute to long-term roadmap planning, and develop tools to monitor and enforce compliance.Responsibilities:
- Design and implement complex hybrid network architectures in support of ongoing business initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement to existing designs and methodologies
- Participate in multi-year roadmap planning sessions with a focus on flexibility and resiliency in support of company long-term direction.
- Develop and utilize centralized configuration tools to allow monitoring and reporting on compliance with cyber policy.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and resolve complex connectivity issues affecting business revenue opportunities
- Advise programs on network design, security and compliance standards, communicating with a broad spectrum of multi discipline engineers and leadership.
- Provide guidance to a team of network engineers on the technical implementation and support of hybrid networks.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Willing to obtain CompTIA Security + or equivalent certification
- Willing and able to obtain Security Clearance
- Willing and able to pass CI Polygraph
- Requires 15+ years’ experience administering LANs and WANs in a complex operational environment with high uptime requirements
- Knowledge of data / IP networking and protocols (e.g., VXLAN/EVPN, BGP, OSPF, GRE, TCP, FTP, DNS)
- 8+years experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- 8+years experience with Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls
- 8+years experience creating and maintaining documentation of solutions
- Experience with network security issues and solutions
- Experience creating and maintaining monitoring in a large-scale enterprise environment
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including creation of SOPs, maintenance plans, network drawings, etc.
- Strong analytical abilities
- Must possess a strong client focus
- Participation in on-call rotation, minimum onsite requirement 3 days / week.
Preferred Requirements:
- Active/current security clearance with polygraph
- Valid CompTIA Security + or equivalent certification
- Professional certifications in at least one technology solution.
- Experience with Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Experience with Zabbix or similar monitoring solutions
- Experience with cloud-based connectivity models
- Experience with centralized DNS/DHCP solutions
- Experience with network automation
- Experience with wireless technologies and load balancers
