About the Role
We are seeking a technically curious and detail-oriented Data Visualization Specialist to support and enhance Accuity’s practice management data systems built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Dataverse). This role finds you at the intersection of data, systems, and business operations where you will ensure that the Firm’s reporting and operational insights are trustworthy and actionable. This is a hands-on technical position involving scripting, data transformation, reporting development, and API-based integrations.
Current workflows may include Python and interaction with the Dataverse Web API, with tools and approaches continuing to evolve as systems mature. This position serves as a bridge between technical systems and business users—translating complex technical work into clear, usable outcomes for non-technical stakeholders. While the role works closely with IT and engineering-adjacent functions, it does not own enterprise architecture, identity management, or tenant-level security design.Over time, this position is expected to assume primary technical ownership of defined practice management datasets and reporting processes, with the pace of that transition aligned to experience, capability, and demonstrated readiness.
What You Will Work On
In this role, you will:
- Execute, maintain, and improve data migration, validation, and transformation workflows
- Maintain and enhance Power BI datasets, reports, and visualizations
- Retrieve, validate, and migrate data using system APIs and platform tools
- Support stakeholders with reporting and data interpretation
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues within defined systems
- Document data workflows, assumptions, and processes to improve clarity and continuity
What You Will Bring
All candidates should demonstrate a strong technical foundation paired with an ownership mindset. This includes:
- The ability to read, understand, and modify code used in data workflows
- Familiarity with structured data concepts such as tables, joins, validation, and transformation
- Experience working with data outside of Excel (e.g., databases, BI models, or scripts)
- The ability to clearly explain technical concepts and work to non-technical audiences
- Curiosity, adaptability, and comfort learning unfamiliar systems
Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Python, or REST-style APIs is beneficial but not required.Formal titles, degrees, or certifications are less important than demonstrated capability, sound judgment, and a willingness to take ownership of meaningful work.
Role Scope & Entry Profiles
This role supports different entry profiles, with initial scope and ramp-up aligned to demonstrated experience and technical capability.
Path A: Early-Career (Guided Ramp)
Often a fit for candidates with early professional experience or equivalent exposure who demonstrate:
- Strong foundational understanding of data, logic, and problem-solving
- Exposure to scripting or data work through coursework, projects, or early-career roles
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly
- Willingness to ask questions and grow into independent ownership
In this path, the first 6–9 months focus on structured onboarding, guided execution of existing workflows, and gradual assumption of defined responsibilities.
Path B: Mid-Level (Accelerated Ownership)
Often a fit for candidates with demonstrated experience who bring:
- Prior ownership of reporting systems, data workflows, or platform-backed datasets
- Experience modifying and extending existing codebases
- Comfort working with APIs and relational data structures
- Ability to independently translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions
Candidates in this path are expected to assume operational ownership more quickly and proactively identify improvements to data quality and workflow design.Ownership of defined data assets and reporting processes is the long-term expectation for this role.
What Success Looks Like
Within 6–12 months:
- Routine reporting changes no longer require senior technical staff
- Data migration and validation processes are maintained and improved independently
- Practice management data has a clearly accountable technical steward
