Sol Systems is seeking a Client Relations Intern to support the Client Relations Team. The intern will assist with customer account management and implementation of process improvements and efficiencies. Through this position, the intern will learn about state renewable portfolio standards and solar renewable energy credits (SREC) markets. They will also gain experience in customer account management and escalation handling. This position provides a fantastic launching pad for a career in renewable energy.Sol Systems’ Client Relations Team manages accounts for a customer base of over 30,000 solar energy system owners across thirteen states.
Customers rely on Sol Systems to sell their SRECs, an important source of revenue from their solar installations. Sol Systems prides itself on its excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries via email and phone
- Support data tracking and development of accounts in HubSpot and Sol’s internal databases
- Contribute to project-based business development initiatives to retain existing customers and reach out to potential customers
- Assist with state registration processes
- Assist with other projects as needed
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Interest in renewable energy
- Interest in customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of SQL is a plus
- A current rising undergraduate junior, senior, or graduate student
Location & Hours:
This is a full-time summer internship (30–40 hours per week) based in Washington, D.C. The internship will last approximately 8–10 weeks. Interns will be expected to work in the office three days per week.
Compensation:
This is a paid internship, with an hourly rate of $20–$25, commensurate with experience.
