Position Summary
The Director of Training for Corporate Development is responsible for leading all instructor hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management in support of enterprise and B2B training programs. This role ensures instructional teams are properly staffed, trained, and deployed to meet contractual obligations, quality standards, and program timelines across multiple partners and locations.Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Director of Training works closely with Corporate Development, Academics, Operations, and campus leadership to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality instructional delivery that supports client satisfaction and program scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Instructor Hiring & Workforce Planning
Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and deployment of instructors supporting Corporate Development programs.Forecast instructor needs based on enrollment projections, cohort schedules, and client demand.Ensure instructor staffing plans align with budget, capacity, and contractual requirements.
Instructor Training & Development
Ensure all instructors complete required onboarding, certifications, and ongoing training.Standardize instructor training processes to ensure consistent delivery, compliance, and quality.Support professional development plans and continuous improvement for instructional staff.
Scheduling & Resource Management
Oversee instructor schedules across programs, locations, and cohorts to ensure full coverage and efficiency.Coordinate with Program Directors, campus leaders, and Operations to align schedules with program delivery plans.Adjust staffing and schedules proactively to address changes in demand or program timelines.
Instructional Quality & Performance Management
Monitor instructor performance metrics including attendance, learner outcomes, retention, and satisfaction.Conduct observations, reviews, and coaching to ensure instructional excellence and compliance.Address performance issues using established feedback and corrective action processes.
Program Execution & Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with Corporate Development, Academics, and Operations to ensure training delivery aligns with client expectations and contractual commitments.Support launch and scaling of new programs, locations, and enterprise partnerships.Ensure instructional delivery adheres to approved curriculum, certifications, and instructional standards.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to instructor staffing, training completion, and performance.Identify risks, gaps, or capacity constraints and recommend solutions to leadership.Contribute to process improvements that enhance scalability, efficiency, and instructional quality.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure instructional staff meet internal standards and external accreditation, certification, and safety requirements.Support audits, reviews, and client reporting as required.
Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in training leadership, instructional management, or workforce development.Demonstrated experience hiring, training, scheduling, and managing instructors or trainers at scale.Experience supporting enterprise, B2B, or multi-site training programs strongly preferred.
People Responsibilities
Directly supervises instructors and/or instructional leaders supporting Corporate Development programs.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.Provides functional guidance, prioritization, and performance feedback as applicable.
Physical Environment
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.Incumbent may sit for extended periods at a desk or computer terminal.Regular use of computer, phone, and standard office equipment.Occasional travel to campuses or client sites may be required.
