Position SummaryWe are seeking a Production Lead to own and execute our planning, production, verification, and delivery processes within an AS9100 and CMMI Level 3 quality environment. This role ensures products are planned, produced, verified, and delivered in compliance with all contractual, technical, and quality requirements.In addition to execution responsibilities, the Production Lead supports business development activities by assisting with proposal development, responding to customer data calls, and supporting trade shows and customer engagements in coordination with the Business Development Manager.This is a highly collaborative, communication-centric role that interfaces with engineering, sales, quality, leadership, customers, and prospective customers.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning & Process Ownership (AS9100 / CMMI)
- Own the Planning, Production, and Delivery process.
- Plan and develop processes needed for production, verification, and delivery of products.
- Ensure production activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Maintain and improve process documentation, work instructions, and records required for compliance and audits.
Production, Verification & Delivery Execution
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, and sales to ensure products conform to contractual and technical requirements.
- Track production status, schedules, risks, and issues.
- Ensure verification, acceptance, and release activities are completed prior to delivery.
- Support the control and disposition of nonconforming outputs.
- Coordinate, plan and manage delivery to customers and distributors, ensuring on-time and compliant delivery.
- Coordinate with customers post-delivery to assess customer satisfaction, identify issues or nonconformances, and manage updates or changes in accordance with approved change control and quality processes.
- Collect and document customer feedback and satisfaction data related to product delivery and execution, analyze trends and issues, and provide inputs to quality management review to support corrective action, risk mitigation, and continual improvement.
Customer Communication & Expectation Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding execution status and delivery.
- Proactively communicate schedules, risks, changes, and impacts.
- Support customer meetings, execution reviews, and delivery briefings.
- Ensure customer communications are clear, accurate, and aligned with company commitments.
Business Development Support
- Support the Business Development Lead in the development of winning proposals.
- Contribute to proposal planning, compliance matrices, schedules, and narrative inputs.
- Respond to customer data calls, RFIs, and follow-on information requests.
- Coordinate internal inputs from engineering, quality, and sales for capture activities.
- Support trade shows, industry days, and customer engagement events.
- Help translate customer needs into executable production and delivery plans.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, quality, and leadership to align execution with proposal and contractual commitments.
- Track milestones, action items, and dependencies across teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve production, delivery, and capture-support processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, program execution, project management, or operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing communication.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across execution and proposal-support activities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AS9100 and/or CMMI Level 3 environments.
- Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, or defense programs.
- Familiarity with government proposals, RFIs, and customer data calls.
- PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification.
- Experience supporting audits, customer reviews, and trade shows.
