Job Purpose:
In this role, you will be in charge of SMART (our proprietary software) Standard Plan component and infrastructure design to ensure that purchase order quantities are correct. You will collaborate with the team to implement changes where needed in SMART.You’ll focus on new initiatives for estimating projects as well as new plan estimates. In addition, we’ll rely on you to help train other estimators as needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain the SMART estimating database to include improvements in product structure.
- Collaborate with other estimators to ensure best practices
- Work with management to implement new projects in SMART including adding sellable plans to meet CIC’s timeline for approved deals
- Accurately perform quantity takeoffs of new plans and enter into plan structure format of the SMART database
- Create and maintain retail catalogs and option standard books, including color selections
- Assist in development and maintenance of the Construction Schedule
- Promote new strategies for cost savings and quality improvement in the plans and estimates
- Oversee standards books creation and perform margin comparisons
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
Experience:
- At least two years of home building estimating software experience
- Knowledge of techniques, methods, and terminology of residential construction
- Two years of residential estimating experience
- Experience in building construction or related field helpful
Computer Skills:
- 1 year+ Planswift experience
- 1 year+ Pipleine estimating software experience
- Microsoft Excel and Access
- CAD (AutoCAD)/Revit helpful
