Hord Coplan Macht is seeking a Systems Automation Specialist to join our IT team. This role blends systems administration with rapid delivery of internal tools and integrations that connect siloed systems and remove manual work. This role complements our Senior Systems Administrator by owning scripting, automations, and lightweight tools that improve day-to-day operations.
About the Position
- Create prototypes effectively using modern AI-assisted development tools, then harden and support what succeeds
- Build and operate internal tools (forms, dashboards, self-service utilities) that solve specific workflow problems
- Automate Microsoft operations with PowerShell: onboarding/offboarding, access and license workflows, reporting, device tasks
- Develop and run integrations using Microsoft Graph and third-party APIs (REST, JSON, OAuth) to reduce rekeying and improve data flow
- Administer Microsoft platforms as needed to support your solutions: Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune
- Deliver securely: app registrations, permissions, secrets and certificates, key rotation, least privilege, safe logging
- Run a simple experiment cycle: define success criteria, prototype, test with users, keep or kill, then productionize what stays
- Productionize and support: Git based workflows, basic testing, monitoring, documentation, and support handoff
- Partner closely with the Senior Systems Administrator on identity, endpoint, and infrastructure dependencies
About You
- Hands-on experience with Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration; practical Intune experience
- Strong PowerShell skills and comfort with Microsoft Graph and APIs
- Ability to build and deploy lightweight internal tools using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript (Power Platform is a plus)
- Strong security instincts around credentials, keys, permissions, and auditability
- Clear communication, strong troubleshooting, and reliable follow-through
- Analytical thinking and a problem-solving mindset.

Maryland Statement
The projected base salary for this full-time position is $98,000 - $120,000. Hord Coplan Macht’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, as well as the individual’s education, experience, and skill sets. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of HCM’s total compensation package for employees.
