About Doss
Doss is a modern ERP platform built for how companies actually operate — replacing rigid legacy systems and error-prone spreadsheets with a flexible, AI-native platform that adapts as the business grows.Traditional ERP software is slow to implement, expensive to maintain, and built around processes that no longer reflect how work gets done. Doss was built from first principles to fix this. At the heart of our platform is the Adaptive Resource Platform (ARP) — a modular, AI-native operations platform that unifies data, workflows, and analytics across core business functions.
It deploys in weeks, not years, and continues to adapt as your business evolves. Our customers — across consumer goods, manufacturing, and construction — are dramatically compressing operational cycles, eliminating manual work, and replacing disconnected tools with a single source of truth. We are growing fast: $0 to $4M in our first 12 months in market, with a target of $15M by end of 2026. We're a team of 50, with 10 engineers today — and we're just getting started.
The Role
Doss is entering a critical scale-up phase. What began as a tightly-knit, founder-led engineering effort now needs a senior engineering leader to formalize execution, raise the technical bar, and build systems that support long-term growth. As Head of Engineering, you'll own the end-to-end engineering function and serve as the senior-most engineering leader responsible for both near-term execution and long-term technical direction. You'll report directly to our Co-founder & CTO and work in close partnership with him to shape the org, culture, and systems that define Doss as we scale. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-ownership role at a company with strong product-market fit, exceptional technical DNA, and serious momentum.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end engineering organization, with direct accountability for delivery speed, predictability, and quality
- Build and operationalize a hypergrowth hiring engine to scale the team from 10 → 50 engineers without lowering the talent bar
- Establish performance management systems that promote excellence, develop internal leaders, and address underperformance quickly
- Free the CTO from day-to-day project management and non-critical hiring loops so he can focus on architecture and long-term technical vision
- Implement execution discipline so teams can ship in parallel — without chaos or heroics
- Maintain delivery visibility and accountability across the org to enable strong cross-functional collaboration
- Partner closely with Arnav on architectural decisions, bringing strong technical judgment to how our systems evolve
- Embed production stability, ownership, and engineering integrity into the organization's DNA
- Stay technically credible through code review, architectural input, and participation in key technical decisions
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams at a high-growth startup — ideally from early stage through Series B/C and beyond
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to earn the respect of a high-caliber engineering team
- Track record of building hiring and performance systems that raise the bar rather than dilute it
- Experience developing engineering managers and technical leads from within
- Ability to bring structure and process to a fast-moving environment without slowing it down
- Excellent communicator and cross-functional partner — comfortable working closely with founders, product, and go-to-market teams
- Deep ownership mentality — you thrive when given real accountability and latitude
What You'll Get
Salary for this role is expected to be $280,000-$350,000 annually, depending on your experience, skills and team alignment. Final offer will reflect how you map to our current needs. Here's a list of the benefits we offer:
