Who You Are 


Spot & Tango is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our NY HQ team! In this role, you will play a key part in the day-to-day financial operations of the company, with a primary focus on inventory and cost accounting. You’ll also support broader accounting responsibilities, including month-end close, financial reporting, and ensuring accurate records and compliance. 

Responsibilities:


  • Own inventory and cost accounting processes, including inventory rollforwards, valuation, COGS accuracy, reserves, weekly inventory reviews, reconciliations, and variance analysis; 
  • Collaborate with our Operations and Manufacturing teams to investigate discrepancies, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Review cost inputs impacting inventory and COGS, highlighting variances and trends and providing clear insights and recommendations to management.
  • Review Staff Accountant’s three way match of invoice, PO and receipt in invoice processing workflows, providing feedback and training to drive accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead physical inventory counts and cycle count programs, coordinating with 3PL partners and our plant in Allentown to ensure accuracy and timely reconciliation.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly reporting packages to support a timely month-end close.
  • Partner with the team on preparing documentation for audit readiness and special projects to scale and improve accounting operations.

Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA Required
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with inventory expertise
  • High proficiency in Excel and ERP (NetSuite)
  • Exceptional attention to detail organizational and time management skills
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Dog lovers a plus!
