We are looking to hire a seasonal Moving Specialist to join our first-class operations team in Vancouver, Canada. This is a role perfect for post-secondary students looking for seasonal or part-time work in April and/or September!In this role, you will primarily be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, organizing, and transporting items. The role involves working on a high-performing team, repeatedly lifting items up to 50lbs in weight on your own, using equipment, sorting items, labeling, documenting, minor customer service, and following a strict schedule.
The job is fast-paced and requires quick problem solving and decision-making. We will make sure to train you in every aspect.This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact in serving customers, and developing with the fastest growing student storage company in Canada. The ideal candidate is someone who is dedicated, organized, willing to learn, has integrity, and is committed to providing a high level of effort and service during every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently moving, organizing, and transporting customer items
- Responsibly transporting items to and from the customer's residence and the moving truck
- Accurately labeling, recording, weighing, and taking photos of items for documentation
- Staying on a fast-paced schedule, and quick problem solving when running behind or facing unexpected difficulties
- Ensuring the safety of items during transportation, and proactively preventing loss or damage
- Using tools and equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, ratchet straps, lift gates, and moving blankets
- Communicating with other team members to ensure all processes and procedures are performed correctly
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of moving trucks, tools, and equipment
- Ensuring a high level of professionalism and high customer service levels
- Availability to work during key months (April and/or September)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in moving, item handling, operations, and logistics is a plus, but not required
- Having a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a box truck and cargo van is a plus, but not required
- Ability to safely and repeatedly lift items up to 50lbs on your own
- Quick problem-solving and decision-making abilities under fast-paced and high-pressure environments
- Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
- Able to effectively work both independently and as a part of a cross-functional team
- Strong customer service skills and a high degree of professionalism
- Willingness to proactively learn, take feedback, improve, and grow
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technological literacy
- A smartphone with data connection is a plus, but not required
