About the Role:
As a Telecommunications Cybersecurity SME supporting our federal government client, you will be trusted to provide senior-level cybersecurity oversight and technical expertise across a nationwide 4G and 5G wireless broadband network. You will evaluate network security architecture, assess risk and compliance, and provide actionable recommendations that strengthen the cybersecurity posture of a mission-critical telecommunications environment.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide subject matter expertise in wireless telecommunications cybersecurity, including LTE, 4G, 5G, and security architecture and implementation
- Conduct and oversee threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments
- Perform security control assessments aligned to industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and 3GPP
- Analyze vulnerability scan results and recommend mitigation strategies
- Review network coverage maps, performance data, and deployment documentation to identify security or operational risks
- Evaluate product integration and service activation test data to strengthen cybersecurity control Identify emerging cybersecurity trends within the telecommunications ecosystem
- Develop technical reports, white papers, and executive summaries to support informed decision-making
- Maintain detailed documentation of analyses and processes for audit and compliance purposes
- Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and program teams in a federal oversight environment

Location:
You will work as part of a primarily remote team, with occasional in-person meetings at headquarters locations in Washington, DC; Reston, VA; Arlington, VA; or Boulder, CO.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in the Information Security field with substantial knowledge of wireless telecommunications and broadband networks, including LTE, 4G, 5G, and related system architectures.
- Experience conducting security control assessments, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and 3GPP.
- Experience analyzing vulnerability scanning tools and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Understanding cloud computing technologies and associated security considerations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience conducting cybersecurity oversight of large-scale telecommunications networks.
- Knowledge of network performance analysis and deployment metrics.
- Experience developing formal technical reports or cybersecurity assessments
