ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sparksoft is a fast-growing woman-owned small business that provides innovative technical solutions to the federal government. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Business Analyst to take ownership of all aspects related to business requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, documenting, analyzing, and managing business requirements through the entire project lifecycle. This individual will play a critical role in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements that align with organizational goals and product vision.
The ability to ask insightful questions to uncover deeper business needs and ensure thorough understanding will be key in this role.
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Own the process of identifying and documenting detailed business needs and translating business goals into functional requirements while ensuring they align to the product vision and business objectives. Create technical stories and enablers, demonstrating comfort with technical details.
- Requirements Analysis: Analyze and organize requirements into stories under epics, generate acceptance criteria, lead refinement sessions, and work with Product Leads and Owners on prioritization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for developers, testers, and business stakeholders ensuring all requirements are thoroughly understood, clarified, and validated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring alignment across teams and accurate product execution. Work with cross-functional teams on timelines and raise risks appropriately. Facilitate discussions to navigate ambiguity, helping stakeholders make decisions and arrive at detailed, actionable requirements even when faced with uncertainty or reluctance to make decisions.
- Manage Project Documentation: Manage Confluence landing pages, ensuring they are up to date, organized, and serve as a central hub for project documentation, including a log of business requirements, meeting notes, change logs, and other essential project artifacts.
- Manage System Documentation: Develop and write clear, comprehensive system and user guides following product releases that effectively explain functionality, features, and processes to both technical and non-technical audiences to ensure easy adoption and support for end users.
- Requirements Traceability: Track customer requirements from inception through delivery raising risks when relevant, ensuring stories/epics are tracked to closure.
- Support Testing: Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), review test scenarios, and ensure all impact points are considered.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead the scrum team in agile practices, helping achieve higher levels of scrum maturity.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience: 8+ years' experience as a Business Analyst with a strong focus on requirements gathering and documentation.
- Skills: Outstanding communication and collaboration skills. Exceptionally motivated and proactive. Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in all aspects of requirements documentation.
- Insightful Questioning: Strong ability to ask insightful and probing questions to uncover deeper business needs prior to development and testing to ensure accurate and complete requirements.
- Methodologies: Proficient in agile practices (SAFe a bonus) and traditional project management practices.
- Tools: Possess expertise in using JIRA and Confluence for managing requirements. Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospectives, and other scrum techniques.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including business leaders, product teams, and development teams.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with the federal healthcare space, particularly CMS Marketplace eligibility and appeal processing.
- Experience with case management workflows (Pega is a bonus).
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher)
- Certs: CSM or other Agile certification
