About G2’s Intern Program
G2’s Intern Program is back for its 6th amazing summer! You’ll work closely with leaders and peers throughout the 10 weeks- focusing on making a real impact on G2, with a final presentation about your work to our Executive & Senior Leadership Teams. We’ve packed the summer full of professional development and social events to lay the foundation for your career, ensuring you’ll have a balanced experience over the course of the 10 weeks.
G2 Intern Program Details
- 10 weeks: June 1 - August 7
- Hybrid: Tuesday through Thursday required in-person at our Downtown Chicago HQ
- Pay: $20/hour; 40 hours a week
About The Role
As a Product Experience Design Intern at G2, you will be responsible for delivering a solution for a project with both design and technical challenges. You will work closely with the Product Experience Design team members who will support you through the program. You can also expect to work closely with stakeholders and Squad members (engineers and product managers) while building competency in design patterns, standards, methods, and processes. You will also be expected to learn and apply best design practices, growing your expertise in the UX discipline.
As a member of the Product Experience Design team this summer, you’ll focus on:
UX RESEARCH: You’ll work closely with other designers to do continuous discovery. Continuous discovery is a collaborative process in which UX designers facilitate user interviews to uncover opportunities to improve our interface and user experience. It also involves working with designers and engineers to map, prioritize, and ideate on those opportunities, as well as provide recommendations.PORTFOLIO PIECE: Working on a design project from start to finish. You’ll gather and analyze user data, create low and high fidelity wireframes, do usability testing, and use other UX methodologies to meet project goals.DESIGN OPS: Work with designers to improve the operation of our team, including UX documentation, processes, design system maintenance, brainstorming sessions, and more. You will join weekly Design Guild meetings and Design Critiques to view work and present your own work and progress. You will also meet several days in-person at G2’s office to connect with designers and collaborators.Minimum Qualifications:

- A rising Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university
- Pursuing a degree related to UX Design, UX Research, Human-Centered Design, or a comparable field
- Experience with user research theory and methods
- Ability to create interactive prototypes based on existing user journeys
- Familiar with current interaction design concepts, and a good understanding of design systems
- Experience using Figma
- An inquisitive mind
- A passion for every component of the user experience
- Attention to detail and concern for accuracy
