Summary:
Onset Technologies is seeking an experienced IT PMO Manager to lead and mature the Project Management Office (PMO) as the company scales its dispatchable power generation operations. This strategic leadership role is responsible for standardizing project execution, strengthening governance, and ensuring alignment of project delivery with business objectives and digital transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations and system integrations.The PMO Manager will provide oversight for project and portfolio management, lead a small cross-functional team, and deliver executive-level visibility into project health, risks, and financial performance.
This role is ideal for a proven PMO professional with strong ERP experience and a background in energy or industrial services environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mature the PMO by defining and implementing standardized processes, methodologies, and governance practices.
- Oversee portfolio management, resource allocation, and project prioritization to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Manage a small cross-functional team of project managers and PMO staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight.
- Ensure successful execution of ERP implementations and system integration initiatives, maintaining schedule, scope, and budget control.
- Monitor project health, risks, and dependencies, and provide executive-level reporting to leadership.
- Collaborate with business and IT leaders to align project initiatives with strategic goals and digital transformation objectives.
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to optimize PMO operations and project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, governance standards, and industry best practices.
- Support change management and communication efforts across projects to facilitate adoption and organizational alignment.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience managing a PMO or leading project/portfolio management operations in a complex environment.
- Strong ERP implementation experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar).
- Background in energy, industrial services, or related operational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to standardize project execution, enforce governance, and manage cross-functional teams.
- Strong portfolio management, resource allocation, and financial oversight skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including executive-level reporting and presentations.
- Ability to operate onsite with occasional travel for critical project phases.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives and system integration projects.
- Knowledge of project management frameworks (PMI, PRINCE2, Agile) and PMO best practices.
- Experience identifying process improvement and automation opportunities within project delivery functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
