eDiscovery Data Analyst II at Cognicion

Cognicion LLC, a boutique eDiscovery services and information management provider, is actively recruiting an experienced Data Analyst to join our forward thinking, solutions oriented, data management team. We are seeking someone with demonstrated expertise in the technology and tools needed to effectively manage large data sets and optimize search capabilities. While actively collaborating with data management and client consulting team members, this role will analyze, recommend, and implement the technology solutions that best solve our client's data challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Consults with internal teams to develop advanced technology solutions for clients, including assessing project requirements, determining optimum technology configurations and workflow development.

Acts as a subject matter expert on available technologies and/or tools. Proposes, implements, and executes technology solutions, including but not limited to, Relativity Server, RelativityOne, Everlaw, and Microsoft applications.

Performs complex tasks related to exporting data from databases, including identifying/ensuring validity of data for export, confirming redactions and other markups, and ensuring data export complies with agreed upon production specifications.

Assesses, creates, and modifies files for uploading into various data management platforms. Performs individual file conversions of native files in support of electronic file processing.

Evaluates, develops, and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files.

Ensures the accuracy of data loading, manipulation, and conversion by performing quality testing. Identifies deficiencies, communicates to responsible parties, and makes recommendation to remediate issues.

Ensures viability of data workflows, including data intake, data processing and migration, productions, etc.

Provides ongoing project and technology support for internal teams, external teams, and vendors to implement new technology and troubleshoot technology-based issues.

Develops and prepares standardized and ad hoc reports and dashboards.

Conducts internal and external technology trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Three years’ experience performing data management functions including, but not limited to, electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis.
Knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow, preferred.
Ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects with multiple platforms and other Company personnel in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Ability to effectively present and communicate information to management, employees, clients, and other outside parties.
Ability to work independently and in a remote environment, building relationships, delegating, and escalating risk appropriately

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in eDiscovery technologies or any complimentary technology in the fields of Database Management, Data Analysis, Data Privacy, Cyber Security, or Computer Forensics.
Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) preferred.
Working knowledge of relational databases, scripting languages, batch files, text editors or similar tools.
