Charlotte Mechanical is a well-respected mechanical contractor in the Charlotte area, known for quality workmanship and strong project execution. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Field Inspector – Plumbing to help ensure our installations meet company standards, project specifications, and industry codes.
Position Summary
The QA/QC Field Inspector – Plumbing is responsible for inspecting plumbing installations in the field to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and Charlotte Mechanical quality standards. This role works closely with field supervisors, project managers, and trade personnel to identify deficiencies, promote best practices, and ensure high-quality installations from underground through final completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of plumbing installations at various stages of construction
- Verify work complies with project drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable plumbing codes
- Identify quality issues, installation errors, and non-conformance items
- Document inspection findings and communicate corrective actions to field supervisors and project teams
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to resolve quality issues
- Assist in maintaining consistent QA/QC standards across multiple projects
- Support jobsite readiness for inspections by general contractors and authorities having jurisdiction
- Promote safe work practices and adherence to company safety policies
Requirements
- 5–10 years of plumbing field experience
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and installation practices
- Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites
- Must have a clean criminal background
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior QA/QC, supervisory, or inspection experience
- Familiarity with local plumbing codes and inspection processes
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
