The Team
Research Ops owns feasibility, task design, environments, and execution for data collection and eval, across our lab, our warehouse, and our real deployments. We turn research intent into tasks, scenes, and operational plans, and work with Production Ops to deliver the data and results.
In This Role You Will
Prototype and specify technical systems
- Be technical enough to sketch architectures, prototype workflows, and define requirements for operator tooling and data systems that our runtime team can implement. You should be comfortable getting your hands dirty, even if you are not shipping production infrastructure.
Design operational systems for research workflows
- Turn research needs into clear processes: task specs, operator instructions, data capture requirements, and quality checks. Reduce ad-hoc work by building repeatable systems.
What We Hope You'll Bring
-
Experience designing and running operational programs or complex workflows end to end
- Comfort working in technical environments and collaborating closely with engineers and researchers- Strong systems thinking and ability to turn messy problems into clear processes- Experience working with operators or frontline teams and designing for how work actually happens- Clear written communication for specs, instructions, and process documentation
Bonus Points
- Experience in robotics or research science- Background in data collection, data quality, or large-scale annotation systems- Experience prototyping internal tools or defining requirements for technical platforms
