Job Overview:


Wasserman is looking for a motivated individual to join the Marketing Strategy and Consulting team in Chicago, IL, focusing on a brand retainer account. This position is responsible for leading, developing and managing a variety of current and prospective business relationships, sponsorships, and other partnerships to ensure client satisfaction. This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality and best-in-class strategic consulting.

What You’ll Do: 


  • Lead our account team’s Strategy vertical, which includes using both quantitative and qualitative analysis to generate insights and recommendations for a portfolio of partnerships across sports, music and entertainment.
  • Be in-team expert on Wasserman valuation methodologies, tools, and implementation.
  • Evaluate and measures strategies and executions, reporting the results to senior management and client team.
  • Create a positive, collaborative, team-oriented environment based on the company culture and values.
  • Supervise organization of staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies; set performance goals and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Oversee and facilitate deal structures and negotiation strategy; manage client, agency and internal teams to craft the best business structures for clients entering or renewing agreements in the sports, music or entertainment sectors.  
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with clients, sports/music/entertainment properties and media partners, as well as agency teams and third-party vendors.
  • Maintain oversight of all client-related budgets for assigned client accounts.
  • Lead regular client status meetings to keep the client informed and to receive directions on new and existing projects and initiatives.
  • Understand the landscape for each client’s business/sector as well as the media context for their investments. Build cutting edge strategic plans for clients to meet/exceed objectives.
  • Use forward thinking initiative to identify the next best strategic opportunities and continue to deliver top results to the client. 
  • Intercede when issues arise between partners and programs; work diligently to create solutions for clients. 
  • Work cross-functionally with other verticals within the account team, unlocking value and synergy for clients.
  • Understand company capabilities and service and effectively communicates all offerings to the client.

 What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 11+ years relevant experience with minimum 7 years of direct experience in account and project management in a supervisory role (preferably in the sports or entertainment field).
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals.
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for deck development and budget management.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and be able to create a rapport with people of all demographics.
  • Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
  • Previous experience managing a team and balancing multiple external clients / stakeholders.
  • Possess social perceptiveness and understands behavioral nuances in deal negotiations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to motivate team to accomplish goals and develop professional skills.
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
  • High level of initiative and works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think creatively when planning the track strategy, taking into account program needs and budget parameters.
  • Effective contract negotiation skills and familiarity with contractual language.
  • Requires self-management, including the ability to ability to assess a situation and quickly implement solutions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible enough to react under stressful circumstances.

Base salary range: $116k - $135k, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
