Position Summary


The Marketing & Communications Assistant supports the overall execution of marketing and communications initiatives across digital and traditional channels. This role contributes to content development, copywriting, and social media coordination, while also assisting with event-related activities that promote brand awareness and engagement. Additionally, the position provides hands-on support with photography, videography, and multimedia storytelling to enhance the organization’s visual and narrative presence.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support a wide range of marketing and communications projects, including campaigns, content creation, social media, email marketing, events, and internal communications.
  • Assist with writing and editing content for various audiences and channels, including digital, print, and in-person communications.
  • Help develop, prepare, and publish email communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Contribute to photo and video content capture and assist with basic editing and production needs.
  • Support day-to-day social media tasks such as content scheduling, monitoring, and performance tracking.
  • Assist in planning and executing marketing and community events, including coordination, logistics, and on-site support.
  • Maintain organized files and asset libraries, including content, creative materials, equipment, and swag inventory.
  • Help manage review and approval workflows for marketing materials using established tools and processes.
  • Conduct research to support campaign planning, content development, and team insights.
  • Collaborate with team members and departments across the organization to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Keep leadership updated on project progress and status.
  • Stay up to date with the latest best practices and marketing technologies.
  • Ensure all deliverables follow brand standards and contribute to a consistent member experience.
  • Engage in ongoing training, team meetings, and development opportunities to build skills and knowledge.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)


  • Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions, and general operating policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of personal computer, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other software’s.
  • Knowledge of marketing elements and channels (including traditional and digital marketing), copywriting, and market research methods.
  • Knowledge of or interest in video editing and graphic design tools, including Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, and iMovie.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding machines.
  • Skilled in basic photography and video capture using DSLR, phone, or mirrorless cameras.
  • Ability to maintain high attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to coordinate several concurrent activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and reliability when representing the brand at events or during content capture sessions.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and openly share ideas as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment and manage time well.
  • Ability to motivate others and to work in a large cross-functional team dynamic.

Supervisory Responsibilities


  • The team member does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Complexity & Scope of Work


  • The team member performs a variety of related tasks which are mostly routine but are sensitive in nature.
  • Non routine situations or conflicts are usually referred to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Instructions to the team member may be general or specific in nature.
  • Courses of action are determined by established procedures and/or their leader.
  • The team member’s work is reviewed periodically for accuracy, completion, and compliance with the policies and procedures.
  • Tasks may occasionally have to be coordinated, integrated, and/or prioritized.

Physical Demands & Work Environment


  • The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • To perform this job successfully, the team member is frequently required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.  Daily movements include sitting; standing, reaching, and grasping, operating computers and other office equipment, moving about the office; and attending possible onsite and offsite meetings.  The team member must be able to exchange information, in person, in writing, and via telephone.  Some degree of stress results from contact with management and other team members.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds across the office and load them onto shelves for various needs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Work involves the typical risks and discomforts associated with an office environment but is usually in an area that is adequately cooled, heated, lighted, and ventilated.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field required.
  • Minimum Zero (0) – one (1) year of experience through internships, freelance projects, student work, or part-time roles in marketing, social media, or related fields.
  • Flexible work schedule; evenings, and weekends.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain with 30 days of hire.
  • Bondable
