Job Summary: 


The Director of Human Resources plans, leads, directs, develops, and coordinates the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department. This role ensures legal compliance, supports a high-growth marketing technology environment, and drives the strategic implementation of the organization’s mission, culture, and talent strategy. Serving as a key partner to executive leadership, the Director provides expert guidance on workforce planning, compensation, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development.

This position champions a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture while supporting rapid growth, operational excellence, and occasional M&A activity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, and supervises HR department staff, including HR Generalists, Recruiting, Training, and Event Planning (5–6 employees).
  • Oversee daily workflow and assign duties to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations; promotes, recognizes, disciplines, and terminates employees in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and professional development for HR staff.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:


Strategic HR Leadership:


  • Collaborates with executive leadership to align human resources strategy with corporate goals, including staffing, recruiting, retention, succession planning, and organizational development.
  • Develops, implements, and manages HR departmental goals, policies, initiatives, and budgets.
  • Collaborates and advises senior leadership on complex and sensitive human resources matters and workforce planning decisions.
  • Understands and supports the needs of a high-growth marketing technology organization.

HR Program Administration & Oversight:


  • Directs and oversees company-wide human resource programs including compensation, benefits, payroll administration (Paylocity), leave administration, performance management, training and development, diversity initiatives, employee recognition, morale, and engagement.
  • Develops and manages recruiting, retention, onboarding, and exit interview processes; analyzes trends and communicates findings to leadership.
  • Oversees employee relations activities including counseling, investigations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Directs the development and coordination of training programs, leadership development, career progression, and performance appraisal systems.

Compliance & Best Practices:


  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

Other duties:


  • Creates and delivers presentations regarding HR policies, practices, and workforce initiatives to executives, employees, or government officials as required.
  • Supports corporate initiatives, internal communications, and company-wide events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to support organizational needs.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive human resource management experience is required. 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.
  • Title and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Compensation and Benefits 


The estimated salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. At Stirista, we provide a good faith estimate of the pay range for this position. The final salary offer for this position will be uniquely determined by the combination of candidate's work location, specialized skills and seniority, and a review of internal salary benchmarks to ensure fair and competitive pay. Our total rewards package includes comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K matching, Flexible Time Off Policy and paid parental leave.Stirista does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times.
  • The work location for this position is in San Antonio, TX, Manhattan, NY- or Hauppauge, NY. This is a permanent assignment;  relocation is not available.
