Role Overview
This remote position focuses on designing, enhancing, and supporting business intelligence solutions that enable Finance and Accounting teams to make data-driven decisions. The role combines technical BI development, data engineering, and close collaboration with business partners to deliver reliable, automated, and well-governed reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, enhance, and support interactive BI reports, dashboards, and analytical models using Power BI
- Create and maintain semantic models, calculations, and metrics using DAX and Power Query
- Develop, tune, and maintain SQL-based data transformations to support reporting and analytics
- Consolidate and harmonize data from enterprise systems such as ERP platforms, data lakes, and other structured sources
- Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to convert reporting needs into scalable BI solutions
- Reduce manual reporting effort by automating data preparation, refreshes, and delivery processes
- Analyze and resolve data, performance, and usability issues across reports and datasets
- Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal governance and control standards
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and end-user guidance for BI assets
- Collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with operational requirements
- Provide on-call or after-hours support during limited, business-critical periods when required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable technical discipline
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data development roles
- Demonstrated expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, Power Query, and dashboard visualization best practices
- Strong SQL skills with experience in querying, transforming, and optimizing large datasets
- Prior experience working with financial or enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of Accounting and Finance functions, reporting cycles, and financial data structures
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical reporting and analytics solutions
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex data and reporting issues
- Experience handling large, relational datasets in a performance-sensitive environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and business users
- Ability to manage priorities independently and deliver results in a fast-moving environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with SAP ecosystems, Ariba, and Microsoft enterprise tools
- Exposure to cloud platforms, including Azure services, data lakes, or cloud-based data architectures
- Experience designing or supporting ETL processes and data pipelines
- Familiarity with paginated reporting and enterprise semantic models
- Background in process improvement initiatives focused on eliminating manual reporting
- Understanding of data governance, access controls, and compliance frameworks such as SOX
