Full-timeDescriptionThe Chief Architect serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, and engineering of secure, scalable, and federated multi-cloud solutions supporting Department of War (DoW) and intelligence operations. This role provides strategic technical direction across cloud, data, analytics, and application domains, ensuring alignment with mission requirements, cybersecurity policies, agile delivery practices, and enterprise IT goals. The Chief Architect shall act as the lead for architecting, positioning, designing, including coordination of integration efforts into their intended systems and subsystems.
The Chief Architect shall ensure that any technologies incorporated into or developed do not conflict with the program baseline. The Chief Architect shall also ensure the most advanced technology vendors are engaged in the process and the program has reach across relevant industry, DoW organizations and the open-source community to engage the best solutions. The Chief Architect shall also be accountable for the end-to-end cloud and Platform architecture experience. The Architect leads architectural teams, develops technology roadmaps, and advises senior Government officials on cloud strategy, system modernization, and emerging technologies in classified and unclassified environments. Primarily based at the client’s on-site facility in NCR, with occasional work from alternate locations.
Roles and Responsibilities
•
Architect, design, and engineer federated multi-cloud solutions, including cloud-neutral, cloud-native, and open-source architectures
•
Act as the lead architect for positioning, designing, and coordinating integration efforts across intended systems and subsystems
•
Provide technical leadership to architectural and engineering teams across multiple disciplines and environments
•
Develop and maintain strategic IT goals, technical roadmaps, and target architectures aligned with mission and enterprise objectives
•
Lead system design efforts involving secure application development, data analytics platforms, AI/ML pipelines, and automation solutions
•
Support development and deployment of AI/ML models, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and advanced data analytics solutions
•
Ensure solutions comply with DoW cybersecurity requirements, including secure software lifecycle management and classified network constraints
•
Ensure any technologies incorporated into or developed do not conflict with the program baseline and architectural standards
•
Design and oversee cloud infrastructure supporting containerized and distributed systems across diverse cloud environments
•
Ensure enterprise architecture qualities align with mission and business needs, including reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability, security, and usability
•
Present architectural concepts, technical solutions, and recommendations to senior Government leadership and stakeholders
• Engage and coordinate with multiple industry partners and the open-source community to evaluate advanced technologies and integrate vendor solutions• Maintain reach across relevant industry, DoW organizations, and mission partners to identify, evaluate, and adopt best-fit solutions• Support cybersecurity policy implementation and information technology solutions for classified networks and communications systems supporting intelligence operations• Partner with engineering and product teams to gather requirements, translate mission needs into architecture decisions, and guide agile development execution Requirements

US Citizen
•
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with Cloud Architecture, Systems Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Requirements Gathering, Business Process Requirement Engineering, and agile development practices
•
Experience designing, building, and implementing enterprise-class system architecture(s) and designing qualities across the enterprise that match business needs
•
Experience developing solutions across a diverse and heterogeneous IT cloud environment, including aligning standards, frameworks, and security with overall business and technology strategy
•
Possess experience in the Department of War Architecture Framework (DoWAF)
•
CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
•
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
•
Demonstrated proficiency in relevant programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar
•
Experience architecting and engineering federated multi-cloud solutions
•
Experience leading architectural teams and developing strategic IT goals and roadmaps
•
Experience presenting technical material and architectural decisions to senior Government officials
•
Experience with data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) model development, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) development, secure application development, software lifecycle management, and DoW compliant cloud infrastructure
•
Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting cybersecurity policies or information technologies related to DoW networks, classified networks, or communications systems in support of intelligence operations
•
Demonstrated experience engaging and coordinating with multiple stakeholders from industry
•
Experience architecting cloud-neutral, cloud-native, and open-source solutions

Possession of one or more of the following (or similar) professional certifications:
