Why We're Hiring


The Senior Director of Growth Marketing will own and scale Complex's end-to-end growth engine across e-commerce and marketplace channels. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing paid performance, CRM, lifecycle marketing, and experimentation to accelerate customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth within the fashion and culture ecosystem.This leader will partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing, and Customer Experience to define growth priorities, optimize funnels, and build a durable, data-driven growth organization.

What You'll Do


  • Growth Strategy & Execution:
  • Define Complex's holistic growth vision and translate it into clear, attainable strategies across acquisition, activation, engagement, reactivation, and retention.
  • Own the optimization of e-commerce and marketplace revenue funnels, driving measurable improvements in conversion, frequency, and lifetime value.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap of growth initiatives, balancing near-term wins with long-term scalable opportunities.
  • Continuously identify and evaluate new growth levers across channels, platforms, formats, and emerging technologies.
  • Performance Marketing & CRM Leadership:
  • Oversee a significant portion of Complex's marketing spend, ensuring efficient budget allocation, ROI discipline, and scalable performance across paid media and lifecycle channels.
  • Lead paid acquisition and CRM strategies, including segmentation, personalization, testing, and automation across the customer lifecycle.
  • Forecast customer growth, retention, and revenue impact, using performance data to inform investment decisions.
  • Experimentation & Optimization:
  • Build and champion a culture of structured experimentation, rapid iteration, and learning across growth initiatives.
  • Design frameworks to assess, prioritize, and evaluate growth experiments based on impact, effort, and risk.
  • Introduce creative concepts and innovative solutions, quickly testing and validating them in partnership with leadership.
  • Data, Analytics & Insights:
  • Define and implement systems to track conversion rates, funnel performance, and growth KPIs across channels.
  • Partner with Data and Engineering to design analytics and monitoring tools, including dashboards, alerts, and reporting frameworks.
  • Measure marketing effectiveness and use insights to refine strategy, forecast outcomes, and uncover scalable growth opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform positioning and growth tactics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Insight:
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing teams to align growth initiatives with platform capabilities and customer experience.
  • Collaborate on integrated marketing and customer success strategies to ensure consistency across touchpoints.
  • Deliver deep customer insight by blending quantitative data with qualitative research, including interviews, usability studies, and customer feedback.
  • Serve as a strategic voice of the customer, advocating for user needs, habits, and perceptions across the organization.
  • Partnerships & Innovation:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing partners, vendors, and platforms that can accelerate growth.
  • Proactively explore and recommend new tools, technologies, and partners to enhance marketing effectiveness and experimentation velocity.

Who You Are


  • 8+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or lifecycle/CRM roles, with significant leadership experience in e-commerce and/or marketplace businesses.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable growth across acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue at scale.
  • Deep expertise in paid performance marketing (e.g., paid social, search, programmatic, affiliates) and CRM/lifecycle channels (email, SMS, push, personalization).
  • Strong experience managing and optimizing large, multi-channel marketing budgets with a clear ROI and testing discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, prioritize, and execute a robust experimentation roadmap using data-driven frameworks.
  • Advanced analytical skills with hands-on experience using analytics tools and dashboards to measure funnel performance, conversion, retention, and LTV.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to influence roadmap decisions and improve customer experience.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights, strategic recommendations, and executive-level narratives.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing growth or performance marketing teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around shared growth goals.
  • Experience in fashion, streetwear, luxury, or culture-driven consumer brands.
  • Marketplace growth experience, including balancing buyer and seller dynamics.
  • Exposure to emerging marketing technologies, platforms, and partners within e-commerce and digital media.

$165,000 - $175,000 a yearThe Pay Range, which consists of salary and commission, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
