We are looking for a Senior SharePoint Developer to assess, remediate, and modernize SharePoint Online sites and Pages that rely on legacy custom scripting (JavaScript injection, Script Editor, classic customizations). The role focuses on replacing unsupported or insecure custom scripts with SharePoint Online out-of-the-box (OOTB) and supported modern solutions, ensuring security, compliance, and long-term maintainability. The role involves collaborating closely with clients and other team members to deliver high-quality deliverables that meet business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit SharePoint Online sites and pages to identify legacy customizations such as Script Editor/Embed web parts, injected JavaScript/CSS/HTML, custom actions, classic master pages, page layouts, and DOM-based branding
- Analyze the business and functional impact of disabling custom scripting
- Define site- and page-level remediation and modernization roadmaps aligned with Microsoft best practices
- Modernize SharePoint solutions by replacing unsupported custom scripts with SharePoint Online supported and out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities
- Design and implement solutions using Communication Sites, Hub Sites, modern site templates, sections, page templates, navigation, and OOTB web parts
- Migrate classic SharePoint pages to modern pages
- Rebuild headers, footers, navigation, UI components, and branding using supported modern approaches
- Apply custom themes, fonts, and JSON formatting for lists and libraries where applicable
- Implement SPFx-based solutions only when OOTB capabilities do not meet business requirements
- Identify, refactor, or remove unsupported legacy components
- Ensure compliance with Custom Script disabled tenant policies and Microsoft-recommended modern SharePoint architecture
- Establish reusable and scalable patterns for branding, layouts, and modern page design
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand the functional intent behind legacy solutions
- Translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, modern SharePoint solutions
- Provide technical and end-user support, documentation, and knowledge transfer to support teams
Skill Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online (Modern Experience) and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Strong expertise in SharePoint Online out-of-the-box features, capabilities, and limitations
- Proven experience remediating and modernizing legacy SharePoint solutions built using Script Editor and JavaScript/CSS injection
- Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript and jQuery to analyze legacy SharePoint UI customizations
- Experience with SharePoint Designer and InfoPath in legacy environments
- Knowledge of SPFx for modern page customization and styling
- Exposure to ITSM tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex SharePoint environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Strong customer-handling and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and handle unforeseen situations
- High level of professionalism, adaptability, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Flexibility to work across shifts when required
